Hello to all, and thank you for being here!!! I NEVER could have made it to halfway thru day 5 without you.
I am a 58 year old woman who, after years of being nagged by everyone, looked up and noticed I'd been smoking for
almost my whole life. Since age 19. I remember the first clue I had was a year ago when I went for my first check up in years because I
was made aware my blood pressure was high. When the nurse asked me how long I'd been smoking I actually had to
look at the number of years I had going. I won't say I don't have serious complications from all those years, I don't know that.
What I do have is circulatory problems like numb fingers and toes in the winter which I know will get better now.
One day at a time I have actually gotten to day 5, and I never understood how people stayed in that frame of mind, but I kind
of do now. It was the only way I could see to be able to have a prayer of getting thru even an hour. One hour at a time. I'm not, or wasn't
a heavy smoker, and that makes no difference. I have never quit before, one day at a time I hope this is it.
This website and the educational material and the posts by members have made my quit possible.
Thank you so much.
