Well, I'm proud to be in this club of first posters, because it means I've been free from nicotine for over 72 hours (actually it has been about 91 hours!). The first three days weren't as bad as I thought they would be, although I won't lie and say it was easy. I've tried quitting before without much success, but the thing that made the difference this time was my POSITIVE attitude. I used to think, "I'll never be able to do this, I might as well just go back to smoking." This time, I went at it with the attitude of confidence, knowing that I COULD do it and I stayed positive even through the physical withdrawl (which I'm still experiencing). Today is tough because I'm back at work and my daily routine has now changed, but meditation and a positive outlook is getting me through. For the first time since I started smoking 15 years ago, I'm confident that I'll never take another puff!
