Hi, I'm Jo from the UK and I'm 37. I have been nicotine free for 4days, 16hrs and 22minutes.
I'm delighted to be here!
I'll just give you some background info. I have smoked for 20 years solidly apart from my two pregnancies where I quit with the help of nicotine inhalator. Both times I started smoking pretty much straight away again after my babies were born.
This time I have quit cold turkey and I'm feeling GOOD now. The first three days were very hard but I got through them.
I had to take each hour at a time, if I got through an hour I was happy. Then I did another hour, then another. I made it to a day. It got easier and easier.
I'm really proud of myself for getting to here.
I never thought I would be able to do it, I had given up hope really. But I don't want to die of a smoking related disease and leave my children behind. And most of all I don't want to be guilty of killing myself with smoking.
Thanks for listening, I'm off to take my lovely children swimming now and enjoy it more because this time I won't be waiting for it to end so that I can get out and smoke.
