Hard to believe, but it has been 2 years today since I quit smoking cold turkey with the help of whyquit.com. The very first thing I did today was log on to facebook to share a link to whyquit and write a note of gratitude. I can't thank this site enough. It was whyquit that first inspired me, educated me and helped me to quit smoking. I watched many many videos by Joel Spitzer in my livingroom...some of them I watched a bunch of times.
Today I told a friend that it was my 2 year anniversary & he said "wow..you're celebrating??..you must've really been hooked". (he has been "hooked" on e-cigarettes for a long time) That was a bit of a bummer, but my response was that I will celebrate this anniversary each and every year, as well I should because I am very proud of my accomplishment and always will be. I treat this day as a "second birthday" so that it never ever loses it's significance.
It was this type of statement that reminded me of the early days, when I had little to no support from anyone. This is where whyquit came in and I could come here and educate and inspire myself. Unfortunately, there won't be much celebrating today because I'm sick lol but, I will for sure when I feel better. I'm thinking strawberry daquiri on the beach :)
Thanks to everyone here for all that you do. Thank you to John R. Polito and all of the staff and a special thanks to Joel Spitzer...I still have those videos on my computer and they were instrumental in helping me to quit. I can't even express how grateful I am and I tell anyone who will listen about whyquit.com
With sincere gratitude forever for the knowledge, education, motivation, inspiration and my my regained health..... Sarah xo
