Suzie!Way to go girl!
5 years - - awesome. You did it and managed to pull quite a lot of others along for the ride. You've influenced and educated a great many. - something to be very proud of. You still have a couple of months on me and I just can't seem to catch up for some reason? No matter, your going to have to keep the party going one more day as I am just a tad late. You're right, the group we came in with was a fun one. Never really focused on the downside... it was much more fun to participate in the parades struttin our stuff. Speaking of which, this celebration of yours gives me the opportunity to pull out my quit meter and see what it says....4 years 11months 1w 6d 17:08 smoke-free, 39,792 cigarettes not smoked, $11,937.60 saved, 4m 2w 3d 4:00 life spent doing something other than poisoning myself.Oh yaaaaah! Thanks in no small part to you.Take care. Gump

All Hail Suzie!
on 6 years of Freedom!
We must be
getting old and slow ...lol... always late for each others' parties. ( P.S. Thank you for joining in my 6th recently. I will post a reply to all in my thread soon.)
One thing I
know for sure... we are free from nicotine and loving it!
When I was in
the UK last fall, I took a picture from the tour bus, of a group of teens smoking
outside a shop... I think I did so, because now that I was an ex
the sight had become an anomaly. At one time, I too was a
smoking group participant and even believed that non smokers were
truly missing out on something.
Didn't like to admit I was wrong about that at first, but had I
not quit smoking, I could very well have been DEAD wrong by now.
It's the smokers who are missing out on what life could
should be without this addiction. Ya, I know, I'm preaching to the
So, I'll gladly
accept ALIVE wrong any day, and rejoice with you in your celebration,
not only because I can, but because I appreciate your companionship
over the past six years.
Quitting smoking wasn't morose; it was an
“adventure,” as the dictionary describes it, “An unusual or
exciting experience”. Yes indeed!
Amen to that!
Enjoy your happy day! Looking forward to many many more
years ahead of fabulous freedom for us to celebrate. Bring it on!

I still get so excited on my anniversary, I still can't believe it has been 7 years since I put em down and took charge of my own destiny, quitting smoking does not make me immortal, it will not stop me from getting sick, and it will not stop me from getting old BUT I have increased my chances of living a fresher cleaner life, it has given me the opportunity to take a deep breath without coughing up a lung, it may have bought me a few extra years than I might have had if I had continued to smoke...who knowsAll I know is that I don't smoke anymore. If I could I would swap places with all the newbies, and all the people who want to quit, to show you the calm and peace that I experience in denying this addiction any place in my life I wouldIt CAN be done, with the education supplied on this site, it all boils down to how bad you want it.So cheers my fellow cold turkey's so proud to travel this path with you.Suzie - 7 years
