I woke up, got out of bed, went downstairs, went to the loo, fed the kitten, got a drink, went back upstairs to get dressed, and then realised that for the first time in YEARS, I had done all those things without even * thinking* about wanting nicotine! WOW! Well done to my brain, it seems to be finally reprogramming and healing. It's taken me five weeks to get to that little victory, but boy now I have a taste of what you folks mean about FREEDOM.
Another positive thing I wanted to share was that three of my good friends have all suddenly decided they are going to give cold turkey a try soon, and have thanked me for telling them about this website. Woo hoo :)
And the third positive is that I am feeling much happier, no more meds for me hopefully. I hope this reassures anyone else who gets abnormally depressed in the early stages of quitting, I got help when I needed it, and it tided me over a period when everything seemed too hard.
Five weeks and one day of Freedom from nicotine :)
