Well Rob.. I could have written your opening post to this string as it mimics my own story. Seriously we have so much in common its scary. I also quit at 37, fast forward to today and I'm close to 10 years quit. I'm now 47 and comfortable without nicotine. What made the difference for me? WhyQuit.com and Freedom. Stick with the program.. it works.
Keep reading and learning all you can. As a former closet smoker, I truly believe it is worst of all scenarios. The addiction comes calling but you can't readily satisfy it. That's no way to live. Quitting those first 3 days was an eye opening experience because it demonstrates exactly where you are on the addiction scale. Put some distance between you and your quit date and the confidence begins to build and build. The momentum gets to be overwhelming and before you know it you wouldn't jeopardize your quit for anything. I believe your in this stage... Keep going as it only gets better and better.
Your in the right place. Stick with the program - - its worth it. See you at gold.
Gump.. close to 10 golden years.
