I can really relate to this. I felt totally wacked out for the first 2 weeks of my quit...Just wanted to sleep all the time. I assume nicotine acts as a stimulant, increasing metabolic rate and release of adenalin.
After the first 2 weeks or so things started to feel 'normal' again and I didn't feel so exausted. Exercising really helped.
I still feel tired in the mornings but I think that has a lot to do with being woken up for an hour every night by a one year old baby! Think i need to join a different forum for that problem!
I do feel fresher in the mornings though, and even though i'm tired from broken sleep I dont have that 'gritty' feeling that I had as a smoker... My skin is clearer and i feel cleaner.
A long walk, a short run, perhaps a swim? Stick with it... your body is just adjusting.
