You've been reading for 6 months at these boards before quitting so I guess you have read a fair bit. You would have read in many strings that it is recommended that after quitting, we do everything that we did pre quit - in basically confronting the triggers and breaking the nicotine association. Everything....with the possible exception of alcohol. This is because of the strong association between smoking and alcohol and the tendency of alcohol to lower one's inhibitions.
