Hey Mick,

It's so funny how we both share such similar stories. I started sneaking ciggs out of my mothers packs around 12-13 years old and also started smoking with school friends at 15. When I moved out of my dads house at 20 I had all the freedom in the world to smoke. Like you I had pressure from a boyfriend to stop smoking and didn't really understand the addiction so it didn't last long until I was back smoking again behind his back. In my earlier 20's (now 26) I have tried several times to just quit and I would sneak a cigg or two in and in no time be a full fledge smoker. I remember I thought that I could just be a "drinking smoker" when I went out - boy did I learn fast I couldn't. I feel the same way; so much cleaner, healthier, proud of myself and haven't got very intense cravings just thoughts. You will be fine, I know it just use the knowledge from this site and look at these smokers as addicts. I was terrified 5 days into my quit (now 11 days!!!) going to Atlantic City in the casinos but I tell you what - it was gross looking at all these people smoking and couldn't even breathe in those rooms. I know what you mean with traveling too - it is such a hassle to worry about ciggs when you are hours on a plane ride. Just from the tone in your email, I feel that you really are going to succeed at this! Congrats to you, never take another puff of that nicotine addiction stuff!!
