What a great decision you have made!

Your comment about a stranger telling you how nice you smelled (image, now that's a true aah moment!) brought back a memory of a past experience. I was doing a job-related delivery to a home one day, and I did the usual aerosol spray on my clothes, aired out the car just before I got there, and popped a few strong mints in my mouth too. Well, this little boy answered the door and within 10 seconds, announced to me "you stink like cigarettes". Whoa! what a forthright welcome...Hello!....so I filed the embarassment, the shame and the comment in my brain under 'another reason to consider quitting smoking some day'! I had been berated by a tot, no less. Very humbling! And yet over the years I had repelled similar comments and caring concerns from my OWN children. This addiction is so disgusting. Oh, the things we did to keep feeding the junkie, how we lied, ignored tears, pleas and reason, and did all the vain works of addiction to ensure that our junkie came first. Keep reading and learning and overcome this addiction day by day. Don't let the future concern you. just take things one day at a time. You will arrive there soon enough and comfort will find you to accompany you to a healthier life of freedom. You will never regret quitting. a little Patience will help immensly and remember to celebrate your healing and achievements every day! When we are smarter, we succeed.
