I think my hardest thing at this point in time is believing that I can and will feel normal without cigarettes in my life.....Nancy

Welcome to Freedom Nancy!
imageOh, I hear myself in those words when I first
quit smoking. Anxiety about the future and who I would be and what life would be like caused me to doubt. But there is a principle taught here and in addiction recovery that goes like this....>>>"Take it ONE DAY AT A TIME" ......what a capital notion!!! Just get through each day...and the next day again commit to being nicotine free ....always congratulating yourself at the end of each day!!! and as your quit builds a bit of time and experience , before you know it , hours have gone by when the chatter about quitting is absent in your thoughts, then one evening you discover that you didn't think about cigarettes all day. There is no easy way to get to the comfort of not thinking about cigarettes, but it is simple to get there. No Nicotine Today...period...repeat...ditto again....There is a saying that goes like this... "REMEMBER when you see a man at the top of a mountain..he didn't FALL there." He made the effort and climbed, and we climb the proverbial rope to recovery. O'Bob's popular post talks about this...
