Hello Doug
You know, I need to go and watch a couple of Joel videos - I've never watched any of them image On the other hand, I have been privileged to watch Joel live, and I have (I think) read every single one of his articles - many of them multiple times !
Quitting is 90% knowledge and education, and what you'll read here is the best you'll find anywhere. Never stop reading and learning ... well not for the next few months at least image
I guess from your post that your wife has also quit at the same time as you. You should read Buddy Systems which talks about the problems that can arise out of two people quitting together. Of course we wish both of you well in your quits, but always be aware that you are responsible only for your own quit.
Doug, it sounds as if you have a stack of good reasons to quit, not least that heart attack 2 years ago. I had no idea (until Joel told me) that heart disease is by far the most common reason for death resulting from smoking. I always assumed that smoking only caused lung cancer ! Somewhere in the "Medical" section of the library there is some sobering material on the effects of smoking on the cardiovascular system ... but I guess you've already read those.
Congratulations on making the best decision you'll make for your life, Doug. Welcome to Freedom.
