We get to each of these progress markers one day, one urge defeated, one thought association reconditioned, one bit of our true life gained back with each little victory. It's not all that unusual to get occasional thoughts or urges for something with which we fed the nicotine dependency countless times. The key to re-condtioning these thought associations is to be conscious to not Fixate on them. Give each 'thigger' close examination in light of the truth about our addiciton relationship with nicotine. We continue to heal physically and most importantly psychologically each and every day we stay clean of nicotine. Here are a few relevant articles that helped me see that going back was a terrible option (it still stinks) so I might as well face forward and focus on how to live free of this dependency.
