Welcome Janice,
Isn't it amazing that you could just quit after smoking 30 - 40 cigarettes a day. Our mind set really does influence what we perceive as difficult or not. Quitting with a positive attitude talks about this.
I remember when I first quit and my wife continued to smoke. It had no real effect on me in the sense that it did not tempt me because like you I was determined to live nicotine free. I remember watching her smoke at the picnic table in the back yard and wishing I could get her to find what I had found, freedom. Meanwhile I had to put up with ,as you do now, the smell of tobacco which I no longer found appealing.
Your quit is your own and by example you may have an influence on his smoking but don't bank on it. With over a month under your belt you are a well established non-smoker. As you continue to heal physically, you will find many reasons to celebrate as you discover new smells, new energy, and new reasons everyday that life is better when you never take another puff.
Keep reading and learning. What you know will keep you free.
