Hi "Funkright":
I log on every Sunday now to read and to contine to stay the course. While it's been 7 years for me I will never take it for granted. Letters like yours remind from whence I came and to not let my guard down, as we're all only one puff away from our addictions-- so whatever it takes to stay mindful I'll do it.
Which brings me to your letter; congrats big time on your anniversary! You went over three weeks wihtout puffing away to get delivery of nicotine to your system. You've already passed the first (of many) hurdles, just by not smoking for three weeks, then not giving in during a highly stressful time. You're showing (yourself and others) that you have what it takes to step out and with shoulders square and chin high take on the world without the crippling effects of smoking. You're a winner kiddo so congratulations on this so worthy choice you have made.
As one of the managers wrote 'back when I was the newbie', you may
occasionally
wish you'd have a cigarette, but you will c
onstantly
wish you hadn't if you do.
I loved learning that as it was a reasonable truth that was so evident.
Proud to be your quit sis Funkright (?), keep on with what you are doing to get through the days and weeks ahead.
Life is blissful as a non-smoker, Dionne -Enjoying Freedom for 7 years plus.
