Hello Andi
I know I don't get here a lot these days image but that's still one of the best "first posts" that I've read in a long, long time. I smiled hugely at your phrase "It's like a two-year old needing structure and rules. As long as they understand "no" and what the consequences are for breaking the rules, they cooperate" because that is just right on the money, and I've never seen it expressed so nicely image I remember so well how I came to that realization, oh so many years ago, and how much I enjoyed thinking of myself as a child again image
You have an ice-cool determination about you, and you've obviously been reading a lot here. That'll do very nicely, Andi, because those two things amount to a recipe for success.
By the way, you're wrong in thinking that your past life as a closet smoker is at all unique. I know that lots of members will point you to some fascinating threads here on the subject (unfortunately I no longer keep my own cross-reference library) and I'm sure there are hundreds of ex-closet smokers here. I'm sure you'll enjoy the company.
Welcome to Freedom, Andi. You're at the start of a truly wonderful journey - enjoy it.
