Hi again,
Yeah, Never Take Another Puff is aimed at tobacco cigarette users since Joel originally worked mainly with 'smokers' to help them stop for good. But note that this forum is named Freedom From Tobacco. John has said in retrospect that he really wishes he had named it
Freedom
from
Nicotine
.
The
Law of Addiction
applies to all chemical substances that cause addictive dependence, not just nicotine. Keeping that physical law is what will keep you in control of your addictive dependency. We are never 'cured' but we do have control by the only method possible - denying access to our blood and brain of a harmful chemical.
The method of delivery really does not matter. Whether we used tobacco in natural form in cigarettes, cigars, pipes, used it orally in powder, plug, loose or fine cut leaf, or even the pharmaceutical grade in pills, patches, gum, lozenges or even treated water the key to staying free does not rest with stopping the ingestion activity - staying free is accomplished by keeping our blood chemistry free of the chemical compound nicotine.
Even though we will always be nicotine addicts we have the choice to not live the rest of our lives being active nicotine users.
To stay free from nicotine we need to stay free of nicotine.
Never Take Another Portion.
Here is the article that I that Ione had referred to, it was in another welcome message she had written. It is one of my favorites too -
Quitting with a positive attitude
.
Keep going, Glory Week is almost won. Be sure to celebrate your freedom today and every day.
