Jim,
Thanks for the reply back. I have never really been involved in a support group of any kind, and it was funny i was so excited to get up and see if anyone had replied.
As far as "choosing" or "must" quitting, I am definitely choosing to quit. I have been sick before, in the hospital and all of that and it is definitely different this time. I also have a better support system this time. All the other times that i quit i was with my ex husband who just was not very supportive. Now living with my 3 daughters and a boyfriend who is very supportive and family around also, i am finding it very much easier.
I have not had the chance to read any of your other posts, but i am really looking forward to it. It sounds like you have had quite a life too. I have really found that this web site is very informative and a wealth of info.
Well, I also did a HUGE trial and error last night. I decided to test myself with my new non smoking. The main reason i wanted to do this is that i have friends who smoke and so far i have not been around them, but i have just gotten out of the hospital. I decided to go to our local bar where i have some friends who hang out there and they had been worried about me while i was in the hospital. I walked in, and the first thing i smelled was cigarette smoke and it was horrible. I sat down by my friends and ordered a beer. Now usually for me smoking went with drinking....but now that i think about it smoking went with EVERYYTHING. A trip to the store, doing a load of alaundry, cleaning, etc..etc..etc.. So, i asked my friend who was bartending for a straw....and i held a bendy straw for about an hour while i was in there. It was not really that bad. Actually the smoke was pretty thick and i noticed things that i never noticed before.
Anyways....I have also found that i dont really know if i like the drinks that i liked, taste sooooo differently that i thought they did. Pepsi is my favorite...and it is very strong, and sugary than i thought. Coffee just seems not the same somehow. And i used to drink bud light but it was very strong, so i switched to michelob ultra.
Well, anyways, it seems like i like to talk a lot now, all of my posts are sooo long. Talk to you soon and Congrats on your 12 days.
Crystal
