Thank you, thank you to all my QS and QB who sent me encouragement and words of wisdom.
I am doing just fine, and after a tough Saturday I've a had a couple of very easy and "comfortable days". I went out kayaking on Sunday, on a beautiful crisp clear Keys day, I breathed deep and paddled hard, and the only time I thought about smoking was when I kayaked passed a waterfront bar/grill...and you could smell the nasty smoke about 50 yards offshore!!! What I experienced then was thoughts of disgust, not craving.
Sue Kat and Sheila....we can do it!!! Thanks to Linda for the great links...you're right, I really don't want to throw all these days of freedom away. I'm almost double green!
and thanks to Joe J for sharing your wisdom and that classic post on patience. Here is my favorite line from that one:
"Accept the universal truth that your quit, like life itself, is a journey not an instant destination."
That is wisdom indeed and perfectly sums up the lesson I need to learn the most right now. I also loved, from the Carry U Thru parade:
"Sometimes the only way out is through"
and "
I'm one puff away from a pack a day"
Cindy
I have been quit for 1 Month, 2 Weeks, 6 Days, 10 hours and 7 minutes. I have saved $192.82 by not smoking 1,285 cigarettes. I have saved 4 Days, 11 hours and 5 minutes of my life.
