Antonio,
First off let me tell you, I'm proud of you for asking the question rather than simply taking up tobacco smoking again. One of the primary rules here is to post not puff. Good decision. Tells me this is important to you, deep down. That's a good thing. Also, I learned at an early age that the only dumb question is the one you you do not ask.
Junkie Thinking
How long does it take to become addicted?
Was I addicted?
Yes Antonio, there are social smokers. My wife is one. She is in that small slice of population (10 to 15%) who are not as susceptible to easily becoming addicted to nicotine. Could she become addicted? Absolutely.
However, as Steve points out that is not the case for there rest of us nicotine users who have become addicts. Once the addiction is established, once the
Permanent Brain Alterations
are in place we need to start
Being Honest About Our Addiction
.
Read Read Read. For us addicts knowledge is power. You have a choice Antonio - Freedom or Feed-um -
Smoking IS an Option
. It is an option that addicts who Relapse live to regret. They live to regret a shorter less healthy, less rich life with limits on physical activity and limits in social situations. You should spend more time reading the truth about nicotine addiction, your nicotine addiction, and lie to yourself less.

The One Puff Files
The Final Truth
You decide what you will be - Free or Trapped. You knew you had a 'problem' when you came looking for a way out. Go back and review why you thought it important to stop feeding your body and brain nicotine in the first place Antiono. Your Motivations, dereams, reasons and yes fears were important enough to you to go through withdrawal! Spend more time educating yourself on what addiction is and what it does. I sugggest you have not yet spent the time you need to learn what this addiction is and how it will kill you early or you are choosing to ignore the facts. You choose. Choose well, young man, your life & future depend on it.
JoeJFree always a nicotine addict and gratefully now an EX-smoker for 1 year, 1 month, 27 days, 20 hours, 39 minutes and 43 seconds (420 days)
I've now reclaimed 36 Days and 12 Hours to live how I choose!
