Congratulations Gaylo on taking back your mind, life and work breaks!  I liked to pretend that the reason I found myself imageoutside so much was for the fresh air and to be closer to nature.  Looking back there was nothing fresh about it. Imagine a mind convincing itself that inhaling more than 3,500 chemical particles and more than 500 hot gases, that included scores of tissue destructive toxins and up to 81 cancer causing chemicals, was giving this body a "break."  Guilty as charged!!  What's really sad is that I smoked while exercising.  Yep, during my walks.

If we averaged 5 minutes per nicotine fix and administered an average of 12 fixes per day that's an hour daily, 7 hours per week, or nine 40-hour work weeks per year spent servicing our addiction.   Not only does recovery mean taking back control of our mind, body and life but recovery of a massive chunk of time too.   While initially a bit frightening, it isn't long before bordom's anxieties motivate us to put our new found time to productive use (hopefully accomplishment), which may include seeking true rest and  relaxation during breaks

Welcome to the greatest awakening that most of us will ever know, Gaylo!  We do hope you'll both continue reading and fully embrace this amazing temporary journey of re-adjustment.   Whether bored or stimulated there's just one principle determining whether or not I keep my dependency arrested  ... no nicotine today, none!!

Breathe deep, hug hard, live long,

John (Gold x10)
