Hi, Sue -
I also had some bad days in my first month and wondered if I would ever feel comfortable with my quit. Well, it has now been 6 weeks and I had my first day with not even a thought of a cigarette! There will come a time in the near future when you are comfortable with your quit. Look at the articles Freedom has suggested to you and learn about what could be a factor in your struggles. Arm yourself with knowledge. Believe in yourself!
Everyone's quit is different. Personally I found that sometimes the most productive thing I could do was something outside - go for a walk, a run, a bike ride . . . something where I could enjoy the fresh air and enjoy how much easier it is to breathe since I have quit subjecting my lungs to the 4000 chemicals that are contained in a cigarette. I was out on the golf course a few days ago and had to run back to collect a club I left behind. I was ecstatic that I could run back, retrieve my club, and rejoin my group without breathing hard! I feel ten years younger!! Look forward to the positive consequences of freeing yourself from nicotine.
It really does get easier. The key to success is knowledge and confidence. You can do this! We are all rooting for you!
