Hey Thunderpaw

Welcome aboard and congratulations on 3 weeks.

I know from previous attempts at quitting what you mean by the bargaining. It can seem like you are battling another person inside you.  You've gotten rid of the nicotine and now you are fighting the habituation. It's those rationalisations you have to watch out for and they are often not very smart. After a few weeks into my quit I found myself late one night thinking: "If I have just one cigarette it will actually help me with quitting because it will take the edge off the craving." Smoking will help me quit smoking!!. Without this site I probably would have failed that night.

Reading on here really does help you to understand your addiction. I've found I can see why I've failed in the past and how I can succeed.

One day at a time
No Nicotine Today!!

Jim
