Hello to all ! Its been awhile since I wrote, but I need some pointers. I quit smoking back in February....... At first, as I was sucking on that piece of candy, eating that bowl of ice cream or munching on a muffin, I told myself that it was necessary to replace the hand-to-mouth movement. I told myself it was temporary, and eventually my eating habits would go back to normal. NOT TRUE. It is now November 1. I have gained almost 20 pounds. I am only 5'3", so 20 pounds is huge. Not one pair of pants in my closet fit. I found an old pair of my husband's sweat pants and thats all I wear. All the weight went to my waist, hips, and thighs, and I am disgusted. I switched to sugar-free hard candy to suck on, because after over 6 months of abuse I now need my back 6 teeth pulled and implants put in. Nope, not kidding, 3 dentists have all told me the same thing. So, advice to those first quitting smoking: SUGAR FREE ONLY. But, does anyone have any advice on how to quit the donuts, candy bars, ice cream, cake, etc? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!NTAP, SueR
