Welcome BCArtist! I join Marty and Joe J in stressing the importance of making yourself vastly more dependency recovery savvy than your chemical addiction is strong. A bit of reading here and there and before you know it you'll start shaking your head is disbelief at just how completely each of us were dupped by our dependency.
Drug addiction is about living a massive lie, that that next fix was one of the highest priorities in our lives, that life without it would be horrible. Although for some the first few days of withdrawal fully supports the "horrible" image, as you've already seen, the worst quickly passes. Once this temporary journey of readjustment delivers you here to Easy Street with us, the calm and quiet after the addiction chatter ends is beyond belief.
We hope you'll continue to take recovery just one challenge and day at a time while documenting your journey here in this journal. Be proud of how far you've come, BCArtist. There was always only one rule ... none today!
Breathe deep, hug hard, live long,
John (Gold x11)
