Welcome Obaid.  Sorry to hear about your ongoing symptoms but good to hear that you're under a physicians care.  As the links above indicate, we are not physicians and do not allow members to suggest that any sensation or symptom being experienced by a quitter is quitting related.   We'd be guessing.  We hope you understand that your health and life are vastly too important to allow any member to step between you and skilled health care providers.

That being said, have you read this article?

  • Blood sugar changes when quitting

  • Why?  Because it's important to understand that nicotine is no longer acting as a spoon pumping stored fats and sugars into our bloodstream via our body's fight or flight response.   Having gone years skipping breakfast and most days lunch too, it took time to learn to properly fuel by body and mind.

What's most amazing about your story,  Obaid, is that you've apparently have only been dependent for six months or so.  Question?  Can you still recall the calm and quiet that resided inside your mind before being claimed by addiction's daily chatter?  Also, what motivated you to attempt quitting so soon, exercise?

What we hope you realize, Obaid, is that while you only felt anxiety during the first few days of this attempt that once established nicotine addiction is as permanent and real as alcoholism.  Every attempt is different.   In fact, there's no certainty that any of us could ever come this far again.  What we do know is that half the smokers we see today already know the cause of death that will be printed on their death certificates.  What we know is that none of us ever took a puff off of any cigarette that didn't destroy more of our body's ability to receive and transport life giving oxygen.

Obaid, I wish I were you and given a second chance to go back and arrest my dependency before damaging this body beyond repair.   But it isn't going to happen.  Many here already live with tobacco related diseases or disabilities.  All we can do is hope that you've taken the Law of Addiction to heart and mind.  Here's hoping you're feeling better soon.  If not, don't hesitate to give your doctors another call.  Still just one rule ... no nicotine today!

Breathe deep, hug hard, live long,

    John - Gold x12
