Advice for new members - The 1st 72 hours and more
Welcome Michael! We've been waiting on you!
Having knowledge of our shared addiction, to finally understand and be able to answer the question - what is wrong with me why can't I stop doing this to myself! - is possibly the single greatest revelation we can gain by reading the material at this site. To finally know - there's nothing 'wrong' with me. We are not weak or bad or misguided or out to hurt ourselves.
NOPE. Turns out we became Addicted and developed a chemical dependency. Addicted to a naturally occurring chemical compound that is a
neuromodulator
. The condition is treatable and the prescription for recovery is the same as with any chemical dependency. No More. NONE. Not One Puff Ever. NoNicotinE. Never take another puff and live free, as we are meant to be.
Read, watch the videos, listen to the audio files, learn how we can manage our recovery and live comfortably free of chemical dependency. We're glad you found us.
Pharmacological crutches
Tearing down the wall
"I don't want to die!" - the bottom line?
Need a boost? Reach for your dreams!
The journey home
Three years vs. three days
Right now you are walking through the tunnel of early recovery. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Not only that, the tunnel is not all that long nor as scary as we've been led to believe. Stay focused on the light, keep walking. You'll come through fine. There's a beautiful world of Freedom straight ahead.
We don't get over our addiction it as much as learn to live with the knowledge that we are one puff away from a pack a day. If we take one we get them all back and I know you don't want them all back. That knowledge that 1 = ALL, that surety, will be the key that sets you free.
None or All: Making the Choice
Are you a nicotine junkie?
Try replacing the word "cigarette" with "nicotine
Restoring volume control
Joe J free a nicotine addict who began living free of nicotine 7 years, 9 months, 6 days, 21 hours, 5 minutes and 27 seconds (2836 days ago).
I've not ingested 79433 doses of poison and saved $24,600.66.
I've reclaimed 551 days, 14 hours and 46 minutes of my life time.
