Hi Lucie, I've been away and just read your post on my journal; thanks for that. I'm always humbled that anyone gets anything from what I have to say, what do I know, except that what we all experience here is like the biggest, best-ever deep breath, when we realize we can indeed do this. I am excited to see you turn Gold soon; what is your exact date?  And is your daughter nearby? Why not have a little party, buy a new gold dress (one of the other gals said she was doing that, it's such a cool idea!) and invite your daughter, among others. Perhaps, when she sees how very, very, very important this is, she might feel a bit differently about her smoking. Misery can be contagious, but so can joy, absolutely! When she sees the joy you have, try to gently help her understand the lifetime of misery that awaits her if she continues. Never, never underestimate how powerful a mom is...even when you think they're ignoring you, they're not.

Hope this continues to be a great journey, and please forward your official date for Gold!
Sylvia
