I don't imagine that you sit down to pay bills everyday unless you've got lots and lots of bills : ))) I'm sure your bill paying history included an ashtray complete with fire and smoke beside you. While we can't promise that the next time you sit down to pay bills that you won't feel the exact same type of financial anxieties that every never smoker in the world feels, we're pretty darn comfortable in saying that the next session will probably not generate a powerful habit triggered crave anxiety attack. Our habit links may seem very powerful when happening but they're extremely easy to break.
The subconscious mind isn't capable of reasoning and if you don't feed it when it expects to be fed, it easily gives up and breaks the link between those particular habit memories and your mind's crave generator. Stop for a second and think about all the times that you used to smoke that have already passed today. It's amazing! Getting up, the newspaper, eating, driving in the car.... probably none generated a habit crave anxiety attack here on day 8. Don't forget or confuse your normal "thoughts" about smoking. They'll linger on for hours if you let them but we're each pretty much in control of how long they remain and they never hurt unless you allow them to remain and fester.
You're doing great and as you already know, recovery is temporary and comfort does arrive! Breathe deep, hug hard, live long, YQB Zep : )
