Sorry I'm late Nicole! It sounds like the Day 7 celebration spike but in that you
don't mention any specific crave (...chest pain, crying, wanting.....) it could be just a healthy dose of general withdrawal anxiety mixed in with all life's normal factors.
Today you celebrated the end of Glory Week! I like to think that it may be Hell going in but it's Glory looking back at we accomplished! For most, until then there has really been little to celebrate but one week is a major milestone in most of our minds and rightly so. When in your smoking life did you ever celebrate without having a cigarette in your mouth delivering nicotine to your brain, body and blood? Think about it! For most of us, celebrations and joyful times were shared with Nicoman. If part of what you felt were day 7 celebration triggers then take heart that you've probably reconditioned them and they're now a thing of the past. Our subconscious mind isn't capable of independent thought, it only reacts to what it has been fed and it believes what it sees. You just finished teaching it that during celebrations it will no longer get nicotine and it believes you!
Although your body was nicotine free at 72 hours and your symptoms of withdrawal were at their peak, it still needs time to adjust to life without nicotine. Many of the symptoms of physical withdrawal, including anxiety, continue to slowly taper off until eventually disappearing somewhere between 10 days to two weeks. Clearly you had a challenging day seven. I'd guess that day 8 will be much easier but don't let your guard down! You've done well
! Take pride in what you just accomplished! Real pride! In fact have a little celebration party and take great joy in the fact that you'll never ever again crave or want a cigarette during times of general celebration! I say "general celebration" as you may have stored a few specific joy type triggers in different file drawer of your mind (did you smoke at weddings? LOL).
Congratulations again on a week of Freedom!
Breathe deep, hug hard, live long! YQB
Zep : )
I have now been free and healing for 1 Year 9 Months 5 Days 8 Hours 47 Minutes 11 Seconds and there should be an extra 38,841 cigarettes somewhere.
