Keep your wits about you. An addict uses for the same reason a fish swims. There is no rhyme, reason or logic to it. He has to really want to quit. He's not betraying you, he's betraying himself. Once you get past the 3 day detox you have a conscious choice and the "swimming" analogy no longer applys. He made a weak choice and now has two options. Detox again or continue to commit slow suicide by nicotine. Your choice has already been made and is a lot easier - NTAP. Be the strong one and set the example. When he sees the pride, determination, character and self dignity in your resulution to NTAP maybe he'll try to detox again. Has he been reading the information availiable here or was he merely trying to appease you?
