What Brand? Does it really matter?
When money was plentiful - full price premium, especially the ones that had coupons so I coud get their junky gifts for helping to kill myself.. When money was short - Bargain or generic or even cheaper (yes, that's other peoples image) or even worse other peoples cast aways - yep that's right smoking the throwaways.image
It's all about the nicotine. I kept myself supplied by multiple methods cigarettes (store bought and hand rolled), cigars, cigarillos, pipe tobacco, long cut, fine cut......it's all done for the same reason - Gettin that next fix by whatever means and method was 'convenient' and available. Heck, even chewed it in gum and took in in through trans-dermal patches for fairly long stretches. Full-blown nicotine addict certainly was how I spent over 80% of my life. Stole em, pinched em from Mom & Dad and Grandpas, neighbors, Scoutmaster - bought my own whenever I could get away with it.
Read the first post again - Especially pay attention to Joel's last paragraph........
" ...........want to point out, it may have been one company marketing better than another that caused you to settle on a particular brand but it is not why you were actually smoking at the end. The real reason you were smoking in the end was because you were then a full-blown nicotine addict. Advertisements can't addict you, neither can peer pressure or any other external influences. These factors can only encourage you to use a product--the only thing that can actually cause the addiction is you caving to such influences. This holds true for the first cigarette you ever smoked as well as where you are today. No situation, no person, and no great marketing campign can cause you lose your quit. You will always remain free as long as you always remember to never take another puff!"
