Hi everyone. My name is Janice i am 49 yrs old and have been smoking for 35 yrs. I quit smoking cold turkey on the 27th July 2008
I was asked not to smoke for 24 hours before i had a
Spirometry test at my doctors surgery so i put my last cigarette out at 5.25pm on the 27th July as my test was 5.30pm on the 28th July. Well i managed the 24
hours and after the test my husband was waiting for me in the car outside fully expecting me to light a cigarette up when i got in the car (i used to smoke
30-40 cigarettes a day). Don't know what happened really i just didnt want a cigarette so thought to myself oh i will have one later. Then it got to
about 10.30pm on the evening and i thought oh i will wait until tomorrow. When the next day came i decided there and then i was not going to smoke anymore
and here i am 34 days smoke free. My husband still smokes which sometimes i find hard as i am constantly smelling his smoke although he doesnt smoke in the
house i can now smell cigarette smoke a mile away lol. It has not been easy but it has not been as bad as i thought it would either. I have been reading the
posts and Joels encouraging words and know i will NTAP with the help and support of all you wonderful people. I am so glad i found this site.
Janice
