Many of us living here on Easy Street sincerely wish we could give all still on Withdrawal Way or Challenge Court a well earned rest, and take over a day
or so but we still haven't figured out how to pull that one off yet. But truth is, you're doing just
fine, and likely better than some of us did. There were a number of time in the first couple of weeks where I seriously thought I'd endured my limits.
But just staying in the here and now, and not thinking ahead, slowly the challenges became fewer, shorter in duration and generally less intense.
If still in early recovery I know this will sound hard to believe but it is likely that everything you're feeling is a wonderful sign of deep and rich
healing at nearly every level, and good not bad. That being said, if concerned about any lingering symptom besides urges and craves get seen and
evaluated. The 4,000 chemicals in each puff or 2,500 chemicals in each dip or chew reflect a mini-pharmacy of chemicals and could have been hiding or
masking an underlying condition or interacting with medications you were already taking. It's always better to be safe.
Be proud of you! If we do this right it means never having to quit again. That's a pretty good problem to have ; ) Still just one rule that if
followed provides a 100% guarantee of success to all ... no nicotine today, not a puff, dip or chew! Yes you can, yes you have, yes you are!

My long-winded, metaphorically-extreme point is to tell you that that's bunk. While you are different from me
in many ways, our addiction to nicotine is the same. You will find comfort (emphasis on WILL) just as I and every other
long-term member of Freedom did (by never taking another puff), and you WILL maintain that comfort the same way we all must
(by never taking another puff). "

....."My point to you is this: Every one of us up here got here the same way. We took the rope. We climbed it.
We didn't let go. And, just like we were told, it got easier. You will also get here that way.
Three years ago, I was where you are. Everyone here has been there at one time. We understand what you're going
through. Nobody here is a superhero. We're just addicts like you who found the rope earlier. And, we can each promise you… the rope is
climbable, it does get easier, and there IS a place for you up here.".....
I hung onto those words in the early days. They gave me so much hope. I hope they do the same for you too. Surely helped me climb Bob's
metaphorical rope. The message above truly reinforces the truth and hope that Freedom provides every new ex- smoker.......we did it, it didn't hurt, it
pretty quickly got better until it got great .......& you can do it too.
