Fellow Quitters,
I just returned from a 3 day business trip to Shanghai. My first trip to Mainland China since quitting (6 weeks today and cruising along...).
I don't know the exact statistics for China but, judging from experience, it looks like the vast majority of the male population are heavy smokers. I
used to love going there on business, as I knew I could just about smoke anywhere I wanted.
I attended a conference there earlier this week, and you should have seen the nicotine feeding frenzy whenever the conference moderator announced a coffee
break - mad dash and scramble to the exits, spark up those sticks, and try and squeeze in 2 or 3 before the next session starts.
I can highly recommend a visit to China for everyone on this Forum. Go anywhere with a large gathering of men, and observe them feed that addiction. Truly
disgusting. The words "crave" and "trigger" didn't even come into play. Just sheer revulsion.
