Nothing could be further from the truth.
"Not Smoking" ceases to be a struggle. It stops being a nail - biting, anxious thing, and gradually morphs into something that is best described as normal living. Back at the "old" freedom, this picture originally seemed a promise too good to be true. Too out of reach. Perhaps wishful thinking. Maybe even a delusion of the "oldbies".
I've now been living it as a comfortable ex-smoker for 7 years. This post is to let you know that... it is all true. Every word here, every word at the old Freedom. Comfort does come. Its inevitable. You will not be struggling forever.
So, when you hear that I've been free for seven years, don't measure seven years by your first months' war with nicotine. Don't measure seven years by the battles of the first three months. Don't measure seven years even by the surprise trigger that catches you off guard at nine months.
For I've been coasting now for a long time. My battle is won. Oh, I keep my sword sharp and my shield within easy reach, because I do remember the battles. But this old warrior is now at rest, and realizes that all he has to do to keep his Freedom is....
Never Take Another Puff.
Thank you all... and Believe: its all true
