I'm GREEN today!!! I am so happy to finally reach that milestone… It's been little tough for me but I did it and am glad that I didn't give into temptations... As some of you probably remember from my previous post, my mom was diagnosed with cancer about two weeks ago and I was on the verge of having that one cigarette... cigarette that would make my problems and worries disappear... I'm glad that I didn't... Your support and Joel's articles helped me through that stage…
I am happy to let everyone know that my mom's tumour was successfully removed and even though she still has to face treatment and follow up exploratory surgery, we are very optimistic at that time...
Thank you my Freedom Family for all your support and warm thoughts… Thank you Joel for all your articles that helped me to go through the tough times… Probably for the first three weeks I was reading all the time. I even printed out all of your responses to my first post and Joel's book and I would carry them with me so I can read, read, and read when the craving came... I noticed that usually by the time I was done reading, the craving was gone and what was left was this wonderful, almost overwhelming feeling that I won once again…
What's great about the quit is that I'm no longer controlled by my cravings… I'm not a slave anymore… I'm more relaxed and happier and have a whole lot more patience… My circulation has improved dramatically... I no longer have those "sleeping legs" feelings when you can't feel anything even if you pinch your leg a lot... I sleep better and my anxieties are slowly going away… No more stomach pains or acid reflux…and this is only one month since my quit!!! Unbelievable… I see now how neglecting I was to my body when I smoked…
Quitting smoking is changing my life for better…
I can tell you one thing that I told all my friends… Until now, my biggest achievement was completing college with honours... Now, my biggest achievement is quitting smoking. I am more proud of quitting smoking than getting my diploma…
I'm proud to be a GREEN ex-smoker…
Once again, I would like to thank my Freedom Family, Joel, and especially my boyfriend who never gave up in believing that I can do it and put up with all my mood swings…
Thank you all for celebrating this wonderful day with me!!!
I know it may get tough again but this time I'm educated and ready to fight the cravings. I will continue to keep my quit strong and NTAP…
