Well, I've finally done it...
I thought I'd given up a week ago, having stopped the cigarettes and started using a nicotine inhaler.. then I found this site and started to read.
Needless to say, after having read a number of the excellent articles here, I realised I'd been had by the pharmaceutical and tobacco industries again, which made me angry, but determined to do it right. So three days ago I went cold turkey. I've smoked for over 25 years, so it's not proving an easy thing for me to do, but I've read the guidelines, and am concentrating on one day at a time (and even one minute at a time when the craving starts, but whatever works is good!). I'm looking forward to the clean lungs. Hope I don't need too much help, and hope I can help someone else if they need it.
