New U.S. Cigarette Pack Warnings
On November 10, 2010 the U.S. FDA announced a short 60 day competition to select the nation's nine (9) new cigarette pack warnings that will be rotated and begin appearing on all U.S. cigarette packs beginning on June 22, 2011. In all but two categories the FDA is presenting 4 choices to pick from. I'm sure they'd hear to hear your thoughts on which you think might be effective.
Below are links to the nine warning categories. Which warning within each category do you feel would be most effective in motivating smokers to quit?
WARNING: Cigarettes are addictive.
WARNING: Tobacco smoke can harm your children.
WARNING: Cigarettes cause fatal lung disease.
WARNING: Cigarettes cause cancer.
WARNING: Cigarettes cause strokes and heart disease.
WARNING: Smoking during pregnancy can harm your baby.
WARNING: Smoking can kill you.
WARNING: Tobacco smoke causes fatal lung disease in nonsmokers.
WARNING: Quitting smoking now greatly reduces serious risks to your health.
