When I TRY to do anything I fail. Trying is giving myself a way out before I begin. If I fail I can always say "Well I tried."
Anything that I DO is successful now matter how imperfect the outcome. Doing is succeeding.
I can't try to quit smoking. Either I have quit or I haven't. Don't you deceive yourself either into thinking that you can TRY to quit smoking. When someone smokes after having quit they may console themself by saying "Oh, but I tried so hard quit." Nonsense. The problem is that you TRIED to quit. Whom so ever quits and then smokes again does so by choice. It was not a failed attempt to quit, it is a choice to smoke. There are no exceptions.
I choose not to smoke.
I choose not to smoke when I am under stress.
I choose not to smoke after meals.
I choose not to smoke when I get up in the morning.
I choose not to smoke when pondering a problem on the job.
I choose not to smoke today.
Never take another puff. (And never whine about it again - you big baby.)
