When we quit, we all drew up this long list of reasons for quitting, and called it ... My Quit List ... didn't we?
And that list represented all the benefits we expected to get --- improved breathing, clearer skin, smelling better, saving money, and so on. And I guess that as time went by we all started to check the reality against the list just to make sure we were doing the right thing and that our quit was delivering No wheezing .. check looking ten years younger ... check bank account up ... check
But every now and then I found, to my surprise, a benefit that I hadn't bargained for Wow, I thought, where did that come from ? Joel never told me about that
So today, in celebration of the eighth anniversary of the start of this wonderful journey to Freedom that I have taken
I invite you to tell us all what unexpected benefit have you found in YOUR journey,
what has most surprised you about YOUR quit ?

Well here's what most surprised me -
My self-esteem shot up into the stratosphere, and my day-to-day enjoyment of life was hugely increased as a result. I recall once posting
"When I smoked, even a good day was spoiled; but now that I've quit, even the worst of days seems so much better"
To quote an old friend of mine ... "Who'd a thunk it ?
