Thanks for involving me in this wonderful group. I quit smoking on September 16, 2006 and have not had one puff of tobacco since. I'm going to be very upfront and honest and I hope that doesn't get me in trouble, but I've smoked marijuana since I was about 13, and started cigarettes shortly after. I know this is just stupid but we're all young and immature at some point. Anyway after 10 years of smoking a pack a day and a quarter ounce a week (which is LOTS of smoke), I stopped, on the said date. I haven't really quit smoking pot, I've cut down much though. My question is this: Will I keep coughing up tar until I quit smoking pot? I haven't had one drag of nicotine since September and I do feel much better -- not getting sick as often, and yes I do cough up stuff still but nothing like when I smoked. I know inhaling pot isn't going to help me stop coughing up tar but I mean, it's been almost 4 months and I'm still just coughing up stuff like nothing else. It feels good to be cleaning out my system but I'm just wondering when the tar will stop coming up. Thanks for all your help.
